2017 BWA State Championship Dates

The 2017 Smarter than Smoking BWA State Championship will be held at Bendat Basketball Centre and Warwick Stadium on the following dates:

25/26 November 2017 – Under 11 Boys (07/08), Under 17s (01/02) and Under 19s (99/00)

2/3 December 2017 – Under 13s (05/06)

9/10 December 2017 – Under 11 Girls (07/08) and Under 15s (03/04)

NOTE: All players must be born in these years to participate in these grades

Flames Player Registrations

We have changed our process for registration and trials. Registrations are open to all players who are interested in participating in the 2017 BWA State Championships and 2018 WABL Competition.

Registration and payments will now be completed online via the portal on the Flames Website:

Portal Opens - Friday 29th September 2017

Portal Closes - Friday 20th October 2017.

All players registering from other associations who played WABL for the 2017 season are required to fill out a “Player Clearance Form." This can be found attached below.

Note: The BWA player clearance form now comes with a transfer fee which is paid directly to BWA.

Trials

Team selections this year will have WABL Grading 2018 in mind. If you are interested in playing in the WABL next year, we strongly recommend that you trial for State Championships 2017.

Making a team is never guaranteed, but for those not trialing for State Championships, WABL placements may be limited or unavailable in 2018.
