The 2009 Victorian Under 18 Youth Girls team that will contest the 2009 Interstate Challenge against Queensland later this month was selected last night. Twelve girls will make their Victorian Under 18 debut in the two match series to be played on the Gold Coast from September 19-21. A great mix of experience and enthusiasm, the twenty-four girls were selected from a 100 player squad that has trained for the past three weeks. Selection was made even more difficult by the depth of talent that exists within the Youth Girls competition. Fourteen of the thirty-two Youth Girls teams and five of the six competitions are represented. The youngest member of the team is fourteen year old Ellie Blackburn from Berwick, whilst the oldest members include original Youth Girls, Chloe Peers and Alicia Eva, who will play their last ever Youth Girls games in the Challenge.
