AFL Darling Downs today proudly unveiled Blackchrome Sportswear as the Leagues major sponsor of the Women’s competition for the next three years.
The partnership will see the Blackchrome logo feature on where ever the AFL Darling Downs Women’s competition appears. Also include signage at Women’s clubs grounds along with Club and League media and marketing collateral, until at least the end of the 2016 AFLDD season.
AFLDD President Andrew Foley was pleased to announce the signing of Blackchrome Sportswear as the major sponsor of the Women’s competition.
“The sponsorship provides not only much needed funds for developing and promoting women’s football, but also it gives it legitimacy that this is a serious part of the AFL program in the years ahead,” Mr Foley said.
“We’re extremely delighted to be associated with an organisation such as Blackchrome and It also gives girls playing junior football an opportunity to stay within the game, and really develop their footy careers, as they move into adulthood.
“It is tremendous to have Blackchrome Sportswear as the major sponsor of this competition, with Blackchrome’s support, we believe we will fulfil these goals.”
Blackchrome Sportswear Queensland State Manager, Travis Eddie, said: “Being a sportswear manufacture we wanted to align with a sport that had a positive and healthy image.”

“As a company of humble beginnings we wanted to support grassroots football and having seen the fantastic work the Management Committee and Staff have done to promote and grow women’s football across the region in recent times we felt that partnering with the AFLDD Women’s League was a perfect fit with our company ethos.”
State Manager Eddie told AFLDD Media, that Blackchrome were excited by what this partnership represents and the opportunity that is available moving forward.
“We are really excited by what this partnership represents.
“For us it is an opportunity to support grassroots football and we hope to work with the clubs to further refine our already impressive women’s apparel range. We also hope that our sponsorship assists with the continued growth of the sport across the region in the future.”
