It's the penultimate round of the Trend Interiors Carpet Court AFL Capricornia season and we have some great do or die Preliminary finals to look forward to in all grades. The Saints will play host to the Mudcrabs in the Prelim after pushing the panthers all the way in the second semi final last weekend.
The Saints will go into this match full of confidence knowing they will be playing on their home ground, they have beaten Gladstone in their past two meeting and will have the belief that they can win the comp after putting a scare through the Panthers camp. The Muddies have lost some key personnel due to suspension and will need to call on all of their spirit and play an outstanding match to beat BITS, after a massive improvement in 2007 you would not discount them. With the stakes so high, two cross town rivals doing battle and the reward a grand final appearance expect this to be a very fast and physical match. In the reserve grade competition the Preliminary final will see the Bulls playing the Swans for a spot in the Grand Final and the right to meet the Panthers. Congratulations to Liam Kronk on winning the Bernie Gottke medal for best and fairest player at the AFL Capricornia awards night on Wednesday.
In Paul Archer and the Good Guy junior footy the Preliminary finals will see the Saints playing the Swans in the under 13's the Saints and Roos in the 15's and the Bulls clash with the Swans in the under 17's. Good Luck to all teams. The AFL Capricornia juniors hold their awards day this Sunday at the Brothers Leagues club.
