It is harder to pick a winner in this game than it is to find a Sydney Swans supporter after last week's hiding by the mighty Richmond Tigers. Both the Cats and the Kangaroos form lines this year are all over the place and when you throw in the fact that the Cats have triple Premiership player, Brownlow medalist and 4 time All Australian, Jason Akermanis, into the mix anything could happen. I have respect for the Cats after their long losing streak, 3 years, and the fact that they have come out the other side as a young, enthusiastic, competitive side. It will be very interesting to see where Akermanis plays, up forward or in the midfield. If he's fit enough I would play him mostly in the midfield so he can hit Stu McAdam on the chest umpteen times and we all know that, given enough oppourtunities, Stu will kick a big, big bag. The Rooboys have been missing a few players this year and this week they get one of them back in Luke Robinson. Robbo has been overseas and now that he is home is chomping at the bit to get back on the ground. My concern is how fit he is and whether he will be able to get through the whole game. One player the Roos would definitely like to have is Cam Douglas. Alas he won't be available until about round 13 after breaking his foot in a horse riding accident. This isn't the first time Cam has broken bones in a horse riding accident and, as such, a little birdie has told me he has earned the nickname "The Horse Whisperer" around the club. Roos coach, Tim Cotter, is not taking the Aker problem lightly calling on help from his big brother, Shaun. Shaun is an ex St Kilda City player and is here to try and help little bro get over the line in this game. I think the Cats kids will benfit greatly from Aker being in their team and he will make a huge difference to the Cats on the day.
Tip: I am really having trouble picking a winner here but the lure of Aker being in the Cats is just to great and I will tip them to win by 9 points in a fairy tale finish.
