MSBL 2017 Head Coach Appointed

The Mandurah Magic Mens SBL team will have the formidable Aaron Trahair as it's Head Coach for 2017.

Aaron brings with him a wealth of basketball experience and knowledge at an elite level.  He commenced his elite level playing career within the NBL franchises of the Perth Wildcats and the Sydney Kings as well as shorter stints with the Cairns Taipans, West Sydney Razorbacks, Hunter Pirates and the Singapore Slingers.

In 2007 Aaron joined the Rockingham Flames SBL team before making the move to play for our own Mandurah Magic from 2009 - 2013.  In 2015 he transferred his extensive playing knowledge and passion for the game into a coaching role, working with the Rockingham Flames as an Assistant Coach and in 2016 headed up the Geraldton Buccaneers as Head Coach.

Recently Aaron announced his decision to return to Perth for family reasons, and the Mandurah Magic was able to secure his services to lead our 2017 Mens SBL team.  The MBA is excited to welcome Aaron back to our community and to have a coach of his calibre, experience and dedication leading the Magic for 2017.  Aaron will work with our developing and elite level athletes and will play an integral role in furthering our clubs commitment to building a strong, cohesive and successful SBL program that identifies and encourages local grassroots participation.

Aaron see's the move in 2017 back to the newly renovated Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre as a key catalyst for change, and as an exciting venture for the Mandurah Magic.  He welcomes the opportunity to work with the Mandurah Magic board, Staff, Members and Community as is committed to building the clubs profile within the basketball community as well as developing our junior players and providing SBL pathways for our athletes.

Mandurah Basketball Association welcomes Aaron back to our club, and looks forward to a stellar 2017 season.
