MSBL Flames V Tigers game preview

Flames v tigers - msbl game preview

Our league continues to get bigger and better. After last week facing 2 new Wildcats we again are matched against 2 NBL players representing the Willetton Tigers. Coach Tatulli has 2 quality players at his disposal, former Australian Boomer Paul Rogers and former Wildcat Liam Rush who has recently signed with the West Sydney Razorbacks.

This game presents a great challenge for us as we try to break into play-off contention. The Tigers are the bench mark of the competition at the moment and are a remarkable 11-1 and sit 2 games clear on top of the table. Coach Tatulli has a great mixture of talent and experience that are playing some very good basketball. The old heads of Regan and Read have combined well with the up and coming talent of Sleeman, Biddle and Dunnell.

The boys will need to focus on their defensive rotations tonight as the Tigers are well known for their patience and control at the offensive end. The battle in the paint will be huge and Trav and Ex will be asked to shoulder most of the load again, but Big Az continues to impress at training and gets better each week. The defensive assignment on Rush will be pivotal to the result, Matt, Watto and Neil will share this job all have done fantastic jobs over the last few weeks on quality opponents. The quick feet of Bowman, Hughesy, Jar and our co-captain Whop will look to explore every opportunity on the break to try and assist our defensive strategy.

We are hoping for a big game tonight to set up the season. This will tell us where we are at and what needs to improve going into the second half of the year. So make plenty of noise and get behind the both teams tonight in their big games.

Thanks again to all the volunteers who continually work hard to put the boys and girls on court every week. Hope you enjoy the game and see you in the function room after the game.

Mark Clayden - MSBL Head Coach
