Little Springers 2020

We're pleased to announce the return of our Little Springers program (for kids born 2015-2017) for 2020. The program is a great way to get the little ones involved in football ahead of the start of structured competitions from U6 level.
The program will run on Friday nights for 10 weeks alongside the junior season, commencing 14th August.
Online registration form can be found at

Merchandise - Online Order Form

Our online order form for merchandise is now live here
We can also take orders at the canteen when open if preferred.

Waitlist - Junior Places

As we work through if any players are dropping out of our junior sides, we have opened up an online waitlist form that can be filled out for our junior sides (U6-U11).

If we become aware of any players withdrawing from sides and places become available, we will offer these to players on the waitlist.

There are a couple of teams where we are still looking for a parent volunteer coach (running training and games) and/or manager (communication and admin). For these teams, if a space becomes available, preference will be given to players whose waitlist form indicates an ability to assist with these roles, otherwise places will be allocated based on those joining the waitlist first.

COVID-19 Training Plan - Stage 2

Please see attached the training maps and schedule for training re-start commencing Monday 15th June 2020, running until stage 3 restictions are implemented.

As advised, players must follow the guidelines set out at and must not mingle with other teams on the ground. Players are to enter the field via the outside of the ground (green arrows) and exit via the middle channels (red arrows - note teams on Field 1B can exit via the dugouts on that side of the oval if they wish).

Players and coaches are expected to exit promptly at the conclusion of their session and not enter the fields before their designated training times, to allow sufficient handover time between sessions.

COVID-19 Update

Thank you for your patience and understanding during the impact of COVID-19 on the 2020 season over the last few months.
Following recent revisions to restrictions, we are pleased to announce that we will be recommencing training as of next Monday 15th June. Final details are still being determined with Football Brisbane, but it is expected that seasons will commence around mid-late July (aligned to stage three of the restriction relaxations) and that a full season will be run, finishing around October/November.
The return to training will look a little different, particularly during the initial weeks under stage 2 restrictions, including:
• Sessions will be restricted to groups of no more than 20, with no more than three groups to a field at any time and no co-mingling between groups;
• Players are expected to turn up ready to play and no change rooms will be open;
• Players are to sign in for each session (coaches/managers for each side will be provided a register to fill in for each session and return to club staff);
• Players are to remain in cars until no earlier than 5 minutes before sessions and leave promptly after sessions. Parents/guardians are to remain in cars during sessions where possible and not enter the field of play (if you do wish to spectate, we request that you remain on the pathways around the complex and not enter the playing fields);
• Players are to bring their own water bottles to sessions (clearly labelled) and are not to share with other players;
• Social distancing to be implemented and contact and handling of equipment to be minimised
• A 15 minute gap will be placed between sessions to allow for cleaning of equipment where necessary and time for players to exit the fields before the next sessions
More information on returning to training can be found at
In light of the restrictions, some of the session days/times have amended for certain teams to comply with number limits. This will be re-visited at the implementation of stage 3, where we expect to return to the original training schedule. Attached are the revised training times. A training map, and diagram for entry and exit to the fields, will be provided ahead of Monday’s return. Note the Friday Komodo sessions in red are an optional second session for the Komodo sides. It will be at the discretion of each team’s coach/manager as to whether these run.
Code of Conduct and Media Release - ACTION REQUIRED
For all players at SUFC, we require acceptance of our Code of Conduct and Media Release authority.
We are also creating emergency contact listing for all players, in light of some incidents in pre-season.
Please use the form linked below to provide contact details and policy acceptance – this must be completed by all players (or a parent/guardian if player is under 18).
We look forward to seeing you back on the fields next week.

2020 Update

Ahead of the new year, the club wish to provide an update on 2020 season registration

Team Selection

Following the trials for Junior Komodo’s and Divisional teams through November and December, we have now selected the top-level teams in each age group and these decisions have been communicated.

The board, on behalf of the club, will now go through a process of allocating teams for all remaining players across all age groups from U6 to U18s. The intention is to provide a team for all players where possible. Given we have moved to the new facility, with extra training days, we anticipate being able to increase the total number of teams and offer football to the largest number of players in SUFC’s history! Assigned teams will be communicated in due course, ahead of anticipated training commencement in mid-February (excluding U15 Div 1 whose season starts earlier).

Trials/training will continue for Cap Men, and begin for City Men and Senior Women, in the week commencing 6 Jan 2020, at the following times:

  • Cap 3 Men – Monday and Wednesday 6.30pm
  • City Men – Tuesday and Thursday 6.30pm
  • Senior Women - Tuesday and Thursday 6.30pm
  • QMF (Over 35 and Over 45) – Wednesday 6.30pm

These are held at Field 1, Springfield Central Sporting Complex, Sportstar Drive, Springfield Central.

With the move to the new field, we have the ability to field additional teams and are looking to add at least one extra Women’s team and 2 extra Men’s teams for 2020.

The online registration form is still available at This is an internal club registration and the PlayFootball registration process will still need to be performed in the new year – this will be advised at the sign on day.

President's Message

Springfield United Football Club was founded in 2008, with a view to providing football for all ages and abilities within the growing Western Corridor of Brisbane. I am very pleased to report that the club has not just grown substantially; it has also maintained this core directive, which is essential to sustained success in this region.

By fielding teams ranging from under 6 to over 45, Springfield United is well placed to deliver the code of football to a wide-ranging audience. Whatever your standard, whatever your age or gender, we will find a team for you to play in!

 Our 2019 results were tremendous across the club. Of our 17 teams at U12 level and above, 15 finished in the top four and qualified for finals series and six of those won their respective leagues. Ten of those 15 teams made it through to grand finals and SEVEN ended up as champions. In particular, our divisional return of all nine teams making finals and six grand final winners, put SUFC amongst the most successful teams in Brisbane in that age category.

 2019 also saw the return of senior women’s football, as well as fielding an all-girls team in the U12 competition. We now have a well-developed junior pathway on both the male and female side of the club – 2019 saw us give senior debuts to a number of youth players and the development of this youth system will see this become a regular occurrence over the coming years as we build from within!

2020 sees an exciting move to our new purpose-built facility at the Springfield Central Sporting Complex. This will allow us extra field access and the addition of teams at each level, so we are able to offer football to as many people as possible.

 The coming season sees us welcome a number of sponsors into the SUFC family from within the local community, as well as the return of our Little Springers program, promoting movement and enjoyment in a football environment, which will run on weekday evenings for an extended period this season and will be available to a wider age range. Junior carnivals will also make a comeback and we will build on our charity events started in 2019, such as Pink Day.

We look forward to seeing you join up in 2020, whether you are a new member or an experienced campaigner!

We are united. We are Springfield United.

 Scott Harding (President)
