KDSC COVID-19 2020 Player Refund Policy
Dear Players, Parents, Coaches, Members, Sponsors & Supporters,
I hope this message finds both you and your family well in another challenging lockdown period.
While the committee (along with the co-operation of all club coaches, parents and players) made every effort to keep the season alive in strenuous times, ultimately we have reached our final conclusion with the cancellation of the 2020 BASL Junior Season announced by BASL late last week to protect the health and safety of all participants.
Following on from the cancellation of the BASL Junior Season, our club committee completed a vast amount of background work and held lengthy meetings to finalize our COVID-19 2020 Player Refund Policy, which can be viewed in the attached document.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the unique season experienced in 2020, apportioned refunds will be available for players that are looking to take up this option.
It is important to note that the club cannot refund the FV or FFA components of your registration fees at this point in time, as these fees are not received by the club. These fees ($40 for U8-U10, and $42 for U12-U18) are collected directly by those organizations through the online registration system at the time of your registration. Should the club receive any refund of these fees (full or apportioned), these will be passed on to you in full at such a point in time.
The committee has reached the amounts listed in the attached document for each age bracket after subtracting the FV and FFA component, BASL Team Entry Fee component, Uniform Costs, and Referee Costs that have already been expended.
The club has also retained a small portion in order to cover the operating expenses that were encountered to pursue the 2020 season, which include (but are not limited too) lighting costs, insurance, gas and electricity, equipment, line marking supplies, sterilizing materials required for COVID-19 compliance, and other ongoing maintenance costs.
We understand this situation is far from ideal, but hope that this is seen as a fair and reasonable approach for all concerned. An approach that returns the majority of the funds available back to the hands of you, our members, while retaining a portion in operating funds for the club to return in full flight in 2021 to put you and your children back on the pitch and in touch with the game we all love.
