Volunteers needed for Ground Setup and Canteen

It's great to arrive at the synthetic pitch each Saturday morning, and find the pitch set up and pies already warm in the main canteen. But this doesn't just magically happen. We are seeking volunteers for either or both of Synthetic Coordinator or Canteen Assistant on Saturday mornings. Both roles are easy and a great way of contributing to a non-profit family club with a focus on fun and enjoyment for our kids.

For either or both role, we are willing to consider fee reductions/waivers/refunds for volunteers willing to assist.

Synthetic Coordinator
The role of the Synthetic Coordinator is to set up the goals and cones on the synthetic pitch of a Saturday morning from ~8:15am.  This pitch is mainly used by U8-U10s but by almost all teams at training. This will take about half an hour. Ideally, you'll also be able to pop by around 12pm each Saturday, depending on fixtured game conclusion, to ensure the goals are packed up. The task is relatively simple and can be completed by any able bodied person, and we will step you through the process so you know what to do. We know your availability may be constrained depending on where your kids are playing so we are happy if your offer to support is conditional upon certain weeks/times/etc, or other occasional unavailability.

Canteen Assistant
Carol Smith, our everpresent Canteen Coordinator, does a great job as a volunteer of ensuring there's always food and drink available for senior matches on Sunday and for junior matches on Saturday (and sometimes Fridays). The canteen is a great fundraiser for the club, helping to keep fees low and provide equipment for 400+ players of all ages. Given our increasing player numbers and workload, we are seeking a volunteer to assist with the canteen on Saturday mornings. This role will entail:
- collecting food (which will be pre-ordered) from club sponsor George's Bakehouse in Huntly prior to opening
- setting up and preparation of food in the canteen from about 8:30am on Saturday mornings
- co-ordinating rostered volunteers from various Epsom junior teams each Saturday
- being available during Saturday mornings for any restocking of food and drinks that might be required
- packing up and cleaning of the canteen area upon closing, times will vary depending on fixtured games and other facility users.

As above, we know your availability may be constrained depending on where your kids are playing so we are happy if your offer to support is conditional upon certain weeks/times/etc, or other occasional unavailability. Or do you know of anyone else who might like to volunteer some time, whether that be a family member, friend or neighbour, that might just be looking to join a friendly club and keep active each Saturday during the winter months.

If we are unable to fill these positions, we will be instituting a roster system where each team playing on the synthetic will have to provide parent(s) to undertake the roles from time to time.
