COVIDsafe plan updated - 2 June

Updated guidelines for groups of 20 skills training at Waramanga (1 June)

Please read the plan and understand what your responsibilities are as a player, coach or parent/guardian. We must follow these instructions at all times.

In line with the ACT Government easing of COVID-19 restrictions - Stage 2.1 Low contact outdoor training (increased group size) is now allowed for groups of 20.

Key changes from Stage 1 to Stage 2.1 include:

  • Small groups for outdoor training allows 20 participants plus a coach
  • Coaches are permitted to work with more than one small group per day, and on multiple consecutive days per week
  • Low contact activities are permitted (i.e. working in pairs on volleying the ball with a receiver and kicker). Deliberate contact (i.e. tackling) is not permitted
  • Field layout details in the plan allocate a half-field per group of 20
  • Three one hour timeslots available per day with 30 minute gap between sessions (as per Stage 1)
  • Coaches are reminded to send a copy of the training attendance (team, names, date, time) to the committee after each session
  • MiniRoos will commence in a couple of weeks. The club will work with MiniRoos coaches to develop and deliver core skills sessions for the U6-U9 age groups

Pleas read the updated guidelines to understand your responsibilities to participate in skills based training with the Stage 2.1 changes.

The move to the next step, Stage 2.2 could be announced by the ACT Government on 19 June at the earliest. The club is awaiting further information from Capital Football about fees. We are planning to re-open registrations once we are able to finalise adjustments to registration fees. We anticipate that players who registered prior to the COVID-19 suspension will receive a partial refund.

Kind regards,
WMFC Executive Committee
