Round 5 Results

Happy Monday to all Goanna supporters.

The Goannas were spread to the 4 corners of Sydney this weekend with the wet conditions on Friday evening provided some boggy grounds for our teams on Saturday.

U19s Division 2
In the early game the young Goannas had their kicking boots on, with UTS unable to convert in front of goals.
With no-one on the bench for the Goannas, the match was a tight affair, but our skills and stamina brought home the game.
A great effort from the boys.

Goannas:                  8.7 - 55
UTS:                          6.10 - 46

Women’s Reserves (Division 2)
Our Div 2 ladies are playing a lot of Premier Division reserve teams this season, and came up against an experienced Inner West Magpies outfit on a very boggy track. Regardless, they showed true Goanna spirit for and courage with a never say die attitude for 4 quarters.

Goannas:                  1.1 – 1
Inner West:                7.10 - 52

Women’s 1st Grade (Division 1)
Our Div1 ladies keep on building their reputation with another solid win on the road.
Another 4 goal haul from Maddie Finch has her in pole position for the Goannas goal kicking award this season.

Goannas:                  16.10 – 106
Newtown:                  0.3 - 3

Men’s Reserves (Platinum Reserves)
An undermanned reserves side topped up with Under 19s (who had already won a match earlier in the day with depleted numbers) ran out the game kicking 4 goals in the final quarter to seal a win in a match which had been an arm wrestle for 3 quarters.

Goannas:              13.6 - 84
Balmain:                10.9 - 69

Men’s 1st Grade (Platinum Division)
The boys gave it their all, but the home ground advantage in blustery conditions along with a few last minute outs for the Goannas made snatching a win against a quality Balmain outfit a tough ask.

Goannas:      5.3 - 33
Balmain:        16.16 - 112
