U/18s
Frankston’s under 18s side was expected to be too strong for Rye, although you wouldn’t have known it after the first half of the match. Frankston started off, their usual inaccurate selves before finishing the first quarter with a couple of quick goals to be 3.4 to Rye’s 1.2. Rye kicked back slightly in the second, however Frankston still went into the long break 6 points up with plenty of improvement still to come.
Like last week, Frankston came out firing after the long break. They kicked 6 unanswered goals in the 3rd term. The lead was extended to 46 points and the game looked over for Rye.
The goals continued in the last quarter as Frankston finished with an accurate 14 goals 11 behinds for the match in very blustery conditions. The final margin was 59 points. Goal kicker include - J.Kiss 4, S.Foster 3, D.Bence 2, J.Page 2, D.Logan-Palser, M.Harris, B.Sutton. While B.Sutton, B.Mace, R.Marks-Logan, M.Westhorp, M.Kent and J.Kiss were all in the best.

Reserves
The Reserves arrived to play against a regular finals team at a regular finals venue and they needed nothing less than a finals like performance to beat Rye who were also undefeated before this match.
Frankston were kicking with the breeze in the first term, unfortunately they could only manage 1 goal for the quarter, although their defence stood up well and held Rye goalless. At quarter time Frankston would hold a 9 point lead.
The second quarter saw Frankston lose their first quarter of football for the year, albeit by 2 points. It was a real contest in the second quarter, amazingly neither side was able score a goal and at half time the lead had been reduced to 7 points.
Despite the closeness in the scores Frankston had a huge advantage in the ruck with Adam Pasquill taking the step up from the under 18’s and he didn’t disappoint. If someone had kept the stat for hit outs I’m sure it would have had him winning 100% of them.
The game finally opened up in the third term. Rye again went goalless, while Frankston had 10 shots on goal. Unfortunately they only kicked 3 goals 7 behinds. Rye finally kicked their first goal early in the last and then kicked a couple more late in the game when game was all but over.
J.Hartskeerl was the only multiple goal kicker for Frankston, R.Lia, B.Whittley, D.Mullavey, M.Maiorino and Mark Perry all kicked 1. A.Pasquill, T.Reints, K.Cid Vandenesse, B.Simmons, B.Tournier and J.Hartskeerl were all in the best.

Seniors
The Seniors were also taking on an undefeated Rye side, and for three quarters the were right in the contest. The first quarter saw Rye lead by a single point despite kicking against the breeze. However the breeze may have changed directions as Frankston managed to kick 4 goals to 3 in the second.
At half time Frankston held a slender 2 point lead. The match was still evenly poised, Frankston then got out to a two goal lead at 3 quarter time, helped largely to a goal right on the siren. However the lead probably could have been a lot more if it wasn’t for their inaccurate kicking in the 3rd quarter. They went from 7.5 to 10.11 in the quarter.
The last quarter was definitely not what the coach was looking for. Frankston must have thought the game was over at 3 quarter time, as rye went on to kick 7 unanswered goals in the last and ran away 37 point winners.
C.Longley, J.Foster and R.Lonie each kicked 2 goals, while N.Lonie, J.Clapp, B.O’Carroll and D.Hulme all kicked one goal. The best for Frankston were J.Degenhardt, H.Moore, R.Lonie, N.Lonie, B.O'Carroll and M.Harrison.
