This grand final was one of the more memorable grand finals in the clubs history. Played at Warburton against a bitter rival in Yarra Junction, before a ball had been bounced both clubs had become embroiled in what can only be described as an "all in brawl". Wandin had been the premier team for the year and Yarra Junction thought they might use some tactics that came from outside the footballing ground. The boys showed they were up for it and through out the match stayed in touch with Yarra Junction. With "spot fires" happening all over the ground and Sean Ryan doing his best impersonation as a flying punching machine, Yarra Junction opened up a 3 goal lead late in the game. Wandin though had other ideas and proceeded to kick the 4 goals which handed them a 3 point lead with less than 30 seconds remaining. With the ball being bounced and a mad scramble occuring the final siren sounded to the delight of all Wandin players and supporters and the Reserves had just won the premiership (back to back premierships). The final scores read Wandin 18.9 defeating Yarra Junction 17.12. Better players were Leigh Brown, Jason Kennedy, Alan McDonald and Randall Pye.
The players to represent Wandin are as follows -
Peter Scardamagelia, Jason Kennedy, Scott Justice, Leigh Brown, Simon Rouget, Todd Symons, Brian Eslick, Sean Ryan, R Thone, Randall Pye, Gary Dickson, Peter Foster, Craig Sherman, James Burton, Peter Kitto, Paul McKenzie, Michael Rouget, Paul Elliott (Capt), Les King, Robert Sharp, Ken Tirant, Alan McDonald.
The team was coached by Sean "Spud" Murphy.
