Looking To Play Junior Basketball in Geelong?

 

The Sharks Basketball Club is always happy to welcome new members.

We have teams in most age groups playing in the Geelong United domestic competition and we are sure that we can find a team for you to play in, that is matched to your ability.

Junior completions are played on Monday through to Saturday, depending on your age group, as follows:

Monday: U14 Boys & U12 Boys Div1

Tuesday: U14 Girls & U16 Girls

Wednesday: U16 Boys & U18 Boys

Thursday: U12 Girls D1, U20 Boys & U23 Boys

Saturday: U10 Boys & Girls and U12 Boys & Girls.

Games are generally played at the AWA Alliance Bank Stadium in Belmont, the Geelong Arena in North Geelong and the Leisuretime Sports Precinct in Corio.

Before making the commitment to our club, we believe it is important to outline the costs associated with playing basketball in the Geelong United Basketball League. 

Basketball Victoria Participant Licence: $25 per annum.

Geelong United Registration Fee: $32.50 per season

Sharks Basketball Club Fee: $40 per season. Club fees cover training facility costs, competition fees (team entry, fines, etc) and presentation day. For the upcoming Summer season club fees have been reduced to $10 per player. 

Before taking the court, all players must complete the registration form and make all relevant payments.

Basketball Geelong Match Fee (Paid at Every game played): $10

All teams train on Sunday afternoon at either Try Boys Sports Stadium (501 Ryrie Street Geelong) or at Grovedale Secondary College (19 Wingara Drive, Groveadle).

Please note that currently all training has been suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions. 

Normal training times are as follows: 

Tryboys Stadium

3pm to 4pm - U10 Boys & U10 Girls

4pm to 5pm – U12 Boys & U12 Girls

5pm to 6pm - U14 Girls & U16 Girls.

6pm to 7pm – U18 Boys, U20 Boys & U23 Boys

Grovedale College

3.30pm to 4.30pm - U14 Boys

4.30 to 5.30pm - U16 Boys
