Return to Basketball - Summer 2021

Finally the news you have all been waiting for.....BASKETBALL IS BACK! (Well almost)

At a recent meeting of Association Clubs, the date of 30 November 2020 was chosen for the restart of competition for both junior and senior players.

It is expected that the Premier will make an announcement on 22 November confirming that indoor contact sport can resume. We don't know exactly what that looks like yet, but we need to start making our preparations now. You can rest assured that the health and safety of all players and their families will be at the forefront of everything we do when we return.

If you have a current Basketball Victoria registration, the expiry date has been extended to allow for the break in competition during COVID restrictions.

If you registered with Geelong United for the Winter Season, this registration is being rolled over for the Summer season. To facilitate this, you will have received an email with your unique code to use during the registration process.

Sharks club fees have been reduced as many of our members may have been impacted financially by COVID-19, so we have decided to charge a nominal fee of $10 per player for this upcoming season.

Registrations are now open on PlayHQ via the following link: REGISTER HERE FOR SUMMER 2021

PLEASE NOTE: You must have a current registration in the PlayHQ system before you can take the court.

For those players requiring uniforms, we will be arranging a uniform day or two prior to the season commencement for fittings and issue of new uniforms. Details to come.

Over the next week the committee will be putting teams together and we hope to have details finalised by the 22 November.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.

Club Philosophy

The Sharks Basketball Club exists to provide a safe, happy and healthy sporting atmosphere for children and families with the emphasis on the joy of competition, rather than just winning, whilst providing quality leadership for the juniors in good teamwork and exemplary sportsmanship.

It strives to provide opportunities for girls and boys to develop their skills and to compete at a level of competition within their individual capabilities.

The Club supports and openly encourages all player's aspirations and dreams to fullfill their basketball goals to a higher level of involvement, whether playing, coaching, refereeing or other Club involvement.
