NAB League Girls: Round 8 Preview

With only two rounds left the Jets girls are flying at the moment. After their crushing victory over the Tasmanian Devils, the girls are full of confidence and looking to finish this season on a positive note. Unfortunately, they will be without Cleo Saxon-Jones this week but Isabella Grant is available to face the Sandringham Dragons. The Dragons and Jets have two wins between them which will make this a very tough contest down at Avalon Airport Oval Werribee. Only time will tell which team has improved its development.

Possible key matchups

Ruby Tripodi vs Alice Burke

Tripodi is like a bull in the midfield, with Isabella Grant a late withdrawal from the Tasmanian game, Tripodi stepped up to the plate. She may have to play against Alice Burke this Sunday who has been in ripping form. Burke currently leads the Dragons for kicks and tackles which makes this a perfect matchup for two competitive girls.

Isabelle Pritchard vs Sophia Rothfield

Rothfield is the tall timber up forward for the Dragons, she has had a quiet season with three goals due to some difficult opposition. Pritchard could be that difficult opposition this week as she rarely gets beaten by tall forwards.

Celia Cody vs Taylah Kolevski

Cody may have a little bit of height on Kolevski but it matters little as Kolevski still leads the NAB League competition for hit-outs. She may have had an average start for the Jets, but heading into the midway point of the competition she has become a force to be reckoned with.
