Kurraka Reserve upgrades completed just in time for season start
The installation of a new pop-up sprinkler irrigation system, drainage upgrades, relevelling, top dressing and oversowing the grounds with ryegrass has been completed just in time for the start of the 2020 season.
The new drainage system will prevent the grounds becoming waterlogged in winter and the irrigation system will dramatically improve the turf quality year-round - no more dust bowl! Not to mention it's going to save us hundreds of volunteer hours and ongoing maintenance costs every year.
It’s been a great example of what can be achieved with cross-government and local community cooperation. We’re grateful to Council for managing the installation and the support of our Federal Member for Newcastle Sharon Claydon MP in obtaining a grant from the Australian Government through Sport Australia.
Check out the works below.
We’re back on the park
Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time. It's great to be back on the park playing football again.
Please remember to uphold all Public Health Orders including social distancing and practicing good hygiene. The COVID-19 situation remains fluid and we need to ensure we continue work with government at all levels to maintain the safety of ourselves and others.
All coaches MUST have a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC). Please email the Club your WWCC number, along with your full name and date of birth. If you don’t have a WWCC, you will need to apply for a FREE Volunteer WWCC.
