The Men took on the Grand River Gargoyles in what is being referred to as the Hwy 6 Cup. Earlier in the season, the Wildcats lost a close game to the Gargoyles. This time, the Wildcats struggled to get enough numbers and ended up playing short. They put up a fight but in the end fell short on the scoreboard. The Men lose 4.5.29 to 21.13.139. Goals were scored by Nick Gayk, Nick Liang, Justin Kitney ad Chris Putman. Best on Ground goes to Tim Wood and the Hard Hat goes to Nick Liang.
The Women hosted the Etobicoke Roos for the first time this season. The Roos have won every game so far this year, sit 1st on top of the ladder and have a huge percentage, so this was going to be a tough game for the Wildcats. With a back and forth game with a tremendous level of skill on display by both teams the Roos came out on top. The final score was 5.5.35 to 7.8.50 for the Roos. Goals were scored by Michelle and Polina with 1 goal each and Jackie with 3 goals.
Best on Ground was Emily Spicer and the Hard Hat went to Lia Vansevenant.
With the long weekend coming up, the Wildcats enjoy a weekend off. However the Men's national team the Northwind, the Women's national team the Northern Lights and their development team, the Midnight Suns will be in action down in Fort Lauderdale competing in the Parallel Cup against the United States.
In Round 10, the Men will host the Toronto Dingos at 1 pm at Mohawk Park. The Women will travel to Humber College to play the Central Blues at 12:30 pm.
