In 2006,

 Anthony Parry shaved off his distinctive beard and dreadlocks

 in support of the Leukaemia Foundation's Annual Shave for a Cure.

"I had received numerous remarks over the previos two years about when I would end up shaving my beard and i always thought i was going to keep it"

"But the Shave for a Cure is a great charity and everything fell into place with a special event at the Western Suburbs League's Club"

"I played around with the crowd to eke out a few more hundred dollars by firstly dyeing my hair and saying i was going to keep my dreadies."

"I alway's wanted dreadlocks of all different colours so my dream came true if only for 20 mins."

"I just put my hand out and people kept putting money on it. 10's,20's and 50's. It was unreal."

"We raised close to $1000 that night and had a great time."

"I wish the Leuakaemia Foundation all the best in the future and thank them for all the wonderful things they have done to help people."

"And i still have my hair at home."
