The Seahawks GC Basketball GyG Junior Competition caters for boys and girls from around 6 through to 20 years of age.
U7 Mini-Ball competition is played on a school term-by-term basis. Games are played on lowered 8.5′ hoops and with only 4 players per team on the court at one time. Boys and Girls competitions will be held if numbers permit, otherwise teams are Mixed. This competition does not play finals or record a ladder. The season concludes with a U8 Encouragement Day where all teams participate.
U9-U23 Boys and Girls competitions play a full 6-month season aligned with school terms 2 & 3 (Winter Season) and terms 4 & 1 (Summer Season). Each age group play with hoops at full height, competition ladder, playoffs and grand finals. Depending on the number of teams there are a number of divisions which caters to the skill level of each team. The Pelicans Club holds trials before each Season to determine which team best suits your child’s skill level.

Season fees cover three areas of cost:
- Basketball Queensland (BQ) Insurance
- Seahawks GC Basketball Competition Fee
- Game Fees
Basketball Queensland Registration (BQ Insurance) is valid for 12 months from the time you purchase. If you are a new player and registering online you must register with a Club (Pelicans) AND Basketball Queensland. Basketball Queensland Registration paid at another Association is now valid across all Queensland affiliated associations for that 12 months.
This is a season-specific fee which registers a player to compete in a specific competition Season (Summer or Winter).
Current rates are found HERE
Game fees go towards costs for referees, court hire, and training. Currently, game fees are payable in two ways, either upfront or in two instalments throughout a season.
