Second placed Wollongong Saints did their best to outshine their Southern Power rivals in scoreboard shutouts as they took on the UNSW Eastern Suburbs Stingrays in game three at Blacktown International Sportspark.
Quick out of the blocks, the Saints gained a 22-point lead over the Stingrays who could not pierce their goal line in the opening term.
The Saints continued their rampage in the second quarter with only their accuracy keeping them from being 12 goals ahead at the main break.
As the Stingrays remained scoreless throughout the game, match standout Jessie Mulholland slotted seven goals for the Saints, emulating Catherine Stanton’s efforts for Wollongong last week and proving the pair are in perfect touch ahead of the finals.
The Saints left Blacktown International Sportspark as 105-point winners, and finished the season two games behind minor premiers, Southern Power.
