AFTER being on the end of some punishing scorelines so far in 2013 the Dubbo Demons turned the tables somewhat by dishing out a belting of their own on Saturday.
The Demons scored their first win of the 2013 Central West AFL season when they pummelled Orange 23.13 (151) to 11.8 (74) at South Dubbo Oval.
Paul Adams booted six majors for the Demons, and Brendan Wall four, as the home side built a 25-point lead at quarter-time and extended it to 33 at the main break.
By three-quarter-time the margin was out to 77 points before the teams split the honours in the final term.
Orange Tigers coach Nathan Pearce was understandably frustrated with the result, lampooning his men for not giving the Demons the respect they deserved, instead thinking ahead to next week's rematch with Bathurst.
"Some people have been saying what about next week? Well we had Dubbo this week. We take things one week at a time," Pearce said.
"The boys just expected things to happen out there rather than making them happen like we have done all year."
The Demons struggled to field a side at the start of the season, but if Saturday's result is anything to go by, the Dubbo club won't die wondering throughout the rest of 2013.
"It proves to me any team in this competition can win on their day," Pearce said, with Bathurst the clear favourites for the flag while Orange, Cowra and now Dubbo remain in the chasing pack.
"That's the best team Dubbo has put on the park this season.
"They killed us in the midfield and probably won 80 per cent of the clearance.
"We pride ourselves on clearances but it just didn't come off for us today.
