St Paul’s proved too accomplished for our lads at the McKinnon Oval on Saturday. A strong breeze made conditions colder than a mother in law’s kiss, and scoring difficult. The first half was extremely hard fought with the home side taking a small advantage into the main break. Danny McKee was penalised 50 metres just before the half time break with what has to be the most pathetic over officious piece of umpiring seen in years, allowing St Paul’s to take some momentum into the half time break. The third quarter proved our undoing as we failed to make any impact with the wind, allowing the doggies to over power us in the last. Better contributors included Dean in the ruck, Johnny Mac in defence, Danny McKee and Leighton.
Riley’s Rampaging Reserves knocked over the reigning premiers in style. Led by another great game from Marc Fullarton, the good guys proved too good for St Pauls, running out 7 goal winners. Better players included Shermo, Steve Laska, Luke Swan and Shane Larner, Great to see some old faces in Pasnin and Sang back in the colours.
