Last week three Eastern Ranges players were invited to the 2016 Victorian State Combine. Nelson Lane, Kane Keppel and Jordan Lynch, along with 43 other TAC Cup players, will take part in a number of tests, both physical and psychological, at Etihad Stadium on October 9th.
This comes as a huge bonus for the Eastern Ranges Football Club who already has five of its players headed to the State Combine on October 5th. Lane, Keppel and Lynch have received these invites due interest from AFL recruiters; however, there was not the minimum five club requirement to score them an invite to the State Combine. Nonetheless, each of these boys now has the chance to display their attributes to AFL recruiters in the hopes that they will be drafted later this year.
Lane is a speedster who provides plenty of run and carry through the midfield. Due to the absence of players such as Dylan Clarke for large parts of the season, Lane has been given more responsibility and thrived, often setting up goals. He has played 11 games this season; featuring in the best players on five occasions.
Keppel has been one of the Ranges most consistent performers down back this year, playing 12 of a possible 15 matches. He has taken 43 marks this year to go with his countless defensive acts.
Lynch who has battled through injury this season, having only played six TAC Cup games, will get his chance to show his hard at it approach to recruiters. The strongly built midfielder/forward has kicked three goals at an average of 10 disposals.
Dylan Clarke, Jordan Gallucci, Callum Brown, Jack Maibaum and Joshua Begley are the five Ranges players to have been invited to the State Combine.
Good luck to all of the boys.
