SENIORS:
It was a disappointing day last Saturday when our senior team went down to St Albans by the narrow margin of 5 points. Altona went into the game undermanned and we started slowly. St Albans took advantage of this going into the quarter time break with a 9 point lead.
The trend continued in the second quarter with St Albans looking to break open the game but they could not convert in front of goal. They had 13 scoring shots to our 5 but were only 13 points up at half time.
Altona finally hit their straps in the third quarter taking control of the game. Our midfielders Miles, Russo, Gags started to dominate, and our forwards were presenting as targets. Altona kicked 5 goals to 2 in the third quarter and our boys went into the final break with a 11 point lead.
Eamesy challenged our players at three quarter time to lift for the occasion, but it was an arm wrestle throughout the final quarter. Both teams were desperate to take control but it was goal for goal for the majority of the last quarter. St Albans finally getting a break late in the game which was enough to see them hang on to win by 5 points. The final scores were St Albans 9. 14. 68 defeated Altona 9. 9. 63.

RESERVES:
Our reserves team was depleated and were always going to struggle against a strong St Albans outfit. There were plenty of positives from the game with Kevin McDonald and Cassar again showing their class and Guy McCleish proving that he has still got plenty to offer kicking 3 goals. John Tedesco is also getting back to fitness kicking two. The final score was St Albans 12. 8. 80 defeated Altona 7. 5. 47.
Goal Kickers: G. McCleish 3, J. Tedesco 2, C. Dalli , A. Vivoda

DIV 1 - U18
It was the top of the table clash in the Division One U18`s with both Altona and St Albans the only two undefeated teams. Altona controlled the game from the first bounce and were clinical with their use of the ball. St Albans tried desperately to get back into the game but they were no match for our Altona boys who went on to win the match by a solid 35 points. Increadibly our boys now have a three week break with two byes and the Queens Birthday long weekend.
