Club Captains for 2015 announced

It is with great pride that we announce the 2015 Junior Club Captains for the Sandgate Hawks.

As Junior President Chris Ferguson, says, this is a prestigeous role that means alot to the club, and especially to the young men who have earned the title.

It’s a lot more than a title. Club captains are role models our juniors look up to. A current under 10 player is only 5-6 years away from becoming the next Zac’s and Jake’s at the Hawks. The examples of leadership, respect, pride and care that our club captains display on and off the field, help set a standard for both now and the future.

Please join us in welcoming Club Captains Zac Hogan, and Jake O'Halloran.

How long have you played footy?
I started my AFL career at Sandgate Hawks  back in 2009 as an Under 10. After 6 seasons at the Hawks this year  as the Vice Captain of the  Under 16 Team it will be my 7th.
What have been your highlights so far?
My greatest  highlight so far would have to be when we won the Under 16 Premiership  flag in 2014. To do this with the the group of boys that you play with all year is a great feeling.
It was a very special moment for me and I will cherish that for the rest of my life. It was the first Football Grand Final that I had  played and to then win it, was very special.
Where do you like to play on the field?
I play in the backline or anywhere the team needs me to play..
What is your role as Club Captain?
My role as Club Captain is to  be a role model for all Junior Hawk players in 2015. Along with Jake we will be assisting and being  apart of the Juniors at trainings and game days.  By being active throughout the club with Junior Club Functions and community events to send the message to our local community that Sandgate Football Club is a strong family club.
Where do you hope your footy takes you in the future?
I hope to be a proud member of the Sandgate Hawks as a  Junior and Senior player and  Member  just like my Dad and Uncles.
What team do you follow in the AFL?
I support the Richmond Tigers

Sandgate football club is a very special place for the HOGAN family ,  My Dad and my Uncles and  I have all  won Junior and Senior Premierships in the Green and Red. My Grandfather is a Life Member after many years of helping around the club.

To be named as the 2015  Junior Club Captain of Sandgate Hawks  is a honour. Thank you for the opportunity  and I am looking forward  to great 2015 season.

Playing for the Sunshine Coast U/12 Rep side in the state carnival which was held here at Sandgate

Where do you like to play on the field?

Usually up forward but I am happy to fill any role the team may need on the day

What is your role as Club Captain?

Being new to the role this year I hope I will represent the club with pride. I also want to come down and speak to all the junior sides about our great game and what it means to play for the hawks

Where do you hope your footy takes you in the future?

To play at the highest level that I  can, we should all set ourselves goals and enjoy the friendships we make on the way.

The Mighty Pies is there any other team.
