MCJAFC Logo-Sharks

Welcome to the new Mountain Creek Junior Australian Football Club (MCJAFC) Website. We hope you find everything you are looking for with regard to playing AFL on the Sunshine Coast and becoming a member of our club.  If there is information you need but couldn't find please let us know so we can help make the website even better.

We are a relatively new AFL club on the Sunshine Coast, prior to 2019 the club only fielded teams in the Youth competitions linked to the Mountain Creek State High School, which by the way is an AFLQ School of Excellence!!!

In 2019 we fielded Junior teams in Roys (Under 6s), Under 8s and Under 10s for the first time. We are trying to grow the club from the ground up, so we are starting with the younger age groups. To build on the success of 2019 we are looking to expand the number of teams in 2020 and look forward to your support. If you can help out in any way please contact the club - we would love to have you on board as part of what we know will soon become a great club.

in 2020 we are looking to field the following teams:

  • 3 x Roys (Under 6s) teams (Mixed - min 6 players per team);
  • 2 x Under 8s teams (Mixed - min of 9 players per team);
  • 2 x Under 10s teams (Mixed - min of 12 players per team);
  • An Under 12s Boys team (min of 18 players);
  • An Under 14s Boys team (min of 18 players);
  • An Under 13s Girls team (min of 12 players); and
  • An Under 15s Girls team (min of 16 players).

To field these teams we will need to recruit a Coach for each team - so if you love AFL and think you might be able to help coach a team please let us know!

At MCJAFC we love our great game of Australian Football, but we also value fun and development, not only for players, but also parents volunteers. We understand that in order to be sucessfull we need to be part of the local community, but we also need your help to be part of the club, afterall it is your club!!! We therefore want to encourage parents to participate in their childrens sporting experience and of course we will support you along the way.

We also understand that being part of the local area involves supporting the local community so we are looking for local businesses to sponsor us to help us build and grow the club and provide a positive sporting experience for our kids. We in turn will commit to helping grow these local businesses who have agreed to support us!

The club has also adopted a Program called "Positive or Pointless"! This is a program that was developed and run by the Queensland Government in 2013. We think this program is still valid today and have maintained it as one of our guideing principles. For more information about this program please go to the Club Info/Club Policies menu area.

In 2020 training and games for all age groups will be run out of the Mountain Creek State School and High School. The club would like to thank both the Primary School and High School for their support and use of their facilities. We look forward to building and maintaining a strong relationship with both schools as well as people in our catchment areas - Mountain Creek, Mooloolaba, Buderim, Brightwater and Sippy Downs.

In the meantime, we would love it if you could "Like" the clubs Facebook page, this is where you can keep up to date on all the latest info relating to the club! See the link on the right of this screen to take you to our page!

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
