TRENTHAM FNC PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT
As a registered player of the Trentham FNC I understand that I not only represent myself and my team but also the club and most importantly the community of Trentham. By abiding to this code of conduct I will demonstrate that both my on field and off field behaviour is consistent with the principles of good sportsmanship and ensure that Trentham is represented in a professional and friendly manner. I will endeavour to uphold the following:
I will:
1. Play the game by the rules and laws of the game
2. Attend training sessions and matches at times advised by the club. If I am unable to do so I will ensure the appropriate club officials are informed as soon as possible beforehand.
3. Act respectfully towards the officials, players, members and spectators of my club and those of other clubs.
4. respect and follow the directions of coaching staff match and club officials
5. respect all match officials and umpires
6. refrain from making any derogatory statements about the club or any opposing club, or players, coaches, officials members or spectators to any print or electronic media, or an any public domain or social networking internet sites.
7. Respect the facilities and equipment of our club and opposing clubs.
8. Refrain from making any public remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability at home and away matches.
9. Refrain from smoking within the club rooms at Trentham or those of opposition clubs
10. Refrain from drinking alcohol before or during a match or training session that I am active in.
11. Refrain from partaking in, or condoning the use of any illegal performance enhancing drugs such as steroids.
12. Refrain from partaking in or condoning the taking of any illegal narcotics before or during a match, at any club function or any club related social gathering.
13. Ensure I bring to a match and wear on field the appropriate club uniform.
14. Arrive to matches and wear after matches whenever possible apparel adorning the club logo and colours.
15. Endorse and exhibit a responsible attitude to alcohol consumption at all home and away matches, club functions; post match gatherings and club related social gatherings.
16. Abide by the rules and regulations governed by Vic Roads in travelling to and from club related activities. I will not knowingly endorse a player to operate a vehicle when they appear to be inebriated or are likely to have blood alcohol content higher than that deemed legal by Vic Roads and will make all efforts to ensure a designated driver or a safe method of transport is made available.
17. at all times enter and leave home and away grounds and clubs in an orderly manner and will at all times respect the neighbouring suburbs and population when travelling.
18. If I am reported and suspended I will forfeit any match payments payable during any suspensions and pay any related tribunal costs.
19. Refrain from placing bets or gambling on the results of a game that I am active in.
20. Make all efforts to ensure my fitness is at a level acceptable to the coaching stuff and club officials.
21. Pay any registration fees by the date specified by the club treasurer.
22. I will arrive to games and training sessions in an appropriate state to offer my best performance
I agree to abide by this Player’s code of conduct and the following terms:
1. I acknowledge that the club’s committee or a body affiliated with the club may take disciplinary action against me should I breach this code of conduct. I understand that the club is required to implement a complaints handling procedure in accordance with the principles of natural justice, in the event of an allegation against me.
2. I acknowledge that action against me may include (depending on the severity of the breach): issuing a citation notice, requiring a verbal or written apology, a letter of reprimand or fine from the club, league or association, the removal of certain privileges of membership, suspension or termination from playing duties and privileges.
I have read, understood and agree to abide by this code of conduct.
Procedures in the case of an alleged breach of the code of conduct:
Formal complaint: A complaint concerning a player must be directed in writing to the clubs president. The president will at his discretion deal with a complaint immediately or request further details. A complaint concerning the breach shall:
1. Be in writing
2. Identify the player against whom the claim is made
3. Set out the details of the complaint
4. Be signed by the complainant.
The President will determine whether the complaint is made in the proper form as set out above and comes within the scope of the code of conduct policy.
Within seven days of the complaint being received the president will provide written details of the complaint to the player to allow the player to respond. The player shall have seven days to respond to the claim in writing to the president. The president will then forward all information to the clubs committee. The clubs committee shall determine if:
• the complaint is to be dismissed or upheld,
• Disciplinary action is necessary, in which case sanctions my be applied
• Further investigation is required or a formal hearing is required.
The club’s committee reserves the right to suspend the player from duties after receiving a written complaint until the outcome of the complaint is known.
