The TUFC proudly welcomes new Senior Coach Ben Van Kraanen (Mobile no 0408056259) and Playing Assistant Coach Troy Cunliffe for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Ben and Troy are long time friends who have for some time harboured a desire to Coach together and now realise that dream.
Both arrive directly from North Hobart having spent 2020 there and a number of years in their younger days.
Ben is his own right was a good footballer but in the future may well be remembered more for his coaching achievements than playing.
A former senior Premiership player in the Old Scholars but more recently turning his hand to coaching to become a Reserves Premiership Coach during the golden era at Lindisfarne.
In 2020 Ben coached the North Hobart Development League side narrowly losing their final to eventual Premier Launceston.
Ben has a passion to coach and will be a valuable asset to the TUFC.
Troy Cunliffe’s football resume is as impressive as most. Like Ben he hails originally and most recently from North Hobart winning the Best and Fairest in 2020.
Perhaps most recognised for his time as a Premiership player at Lindisfarne and notably winning the William Leitch Medal for the best player in the competition – two years running.
An elite midfielder, Troy will be a huge on field presence for the club moving forward. We think they are an outstanding pair to lead the club into 2021 and beyond.
Gerry O'Dea will continue coaching the TUFCW Team. (training will be Mon 6pm and Wed 7pm at the Uni Rugby Oval)
Mens Training will commence next Wed 2 Dec at 6.00 at the Uni Rugby Oval and every Wednesday after that before Xmas.
Remember Communication is the key
