It was a weekend of mixed results for our senior teams as we took on Riverina and Queanbeyan in five games away from home.
Our weekend started off down in Wagga Wagga, when our Second Grade Women’s team took on the Riverina Lions at Gumly Oval on Saturday. The team fought hard against a strong Lions team, with goals from Zoe Langtry and Kate Wheaton, with Riverina taking the win: 19.14.128 to 2.1.13.

Our Rising Stars Men kicked off the action on a chilly Canberra Sunday with a win over Queanbeyan at Allinsure Park. Angus Jones and Jamie Edwards were named among the games best players, kicking four and three goals respectively. The Demons maintained a strong lead through the entire game, keeping the Tiger scoreless in the third to take out the win 11.9.75 to 3.7.25.

The Second Grade Men continued the winning streak on Sunday against Queanbeyan at Allinsure Park, with a win over the Tigers 5.10.40 to 10.10.70. After being down in the first two quarters, the Second Grade Men staged a comeback with two goals apiece from Lachlan Junk-Gibson and Joseph Kerin.

The First Grade Men fought hard against a committed Queanbeyan team on Sunday afternoon, eventually going down 13.16.94 to 12.6.78 at Allinsure Park. The Demons were hot on the Tiger’s heels for the first two quarters, with a four-goal and best player performance from Dean Biermann.

The First Grade Women closed out Sunday’s proceedings in Queanbeyan on Sunday, going down to the Tigers 10.11-71 to 0.1.1. The Tigers kept the team scoreless until the fourth quarter, the Demons putting up a fight until the end with a best-player performance from Kimberly Castle.
