The greatest moment for the club with the Blues winning their first premiership! The season started well and with six rounds remaining the Blues were in second place. A 145-51 thrashing by Marrar spurred the Blues to better things and they finished the preliminary rounds in second. In the major semi, the Blues tore the heart of their Barellan opposition in the first quarter leading 47-7. The Blues held on to take the game by 28 points and book themselves a place in the grand final. Facing East Wagga in the decider, the Blues had a horror start trailing by four goals after just 15 minutes. Terry Whelan was creating havoc for the Blues and Milthorpe moved Steven Long onto him. Long held Whelan out of the game for the final three quarters allowing the Blues to run out comfortable 124-91 winners. Coota's best were Rob Fairweather, Ken Coggan, Wayne Quinnell and Long.
