Teams Ngermid Rivals and Surangel Kings scored separate victories against foes in the ongoing elimination round of the 2014 IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) played at the Palau National gym.

The Rivals nailed their third win at the expense of Medalaii Meda Boyz, 92-82, Wednesday night. After taking a 35-30 lead at the end of the first half, the Rivals spurted a 28-18 run in the third canto to widen further the gap at 63-48.

From there, the Rivals just had their way and went on to win the game. King Ngiraboi continued to led the Rivals in the scoring department finishing the game with 25 points while teammates Ray Rumong, Marvic Ngchar and Ody Yalap chipped in 18, 17 and 14 baskets, respectively as they now take a 3-0 win-loss record in the team standings.

On the other hand, Surangel Kings withstood their ground as they bested Matakui, 81-69, Tuesday night. The Kings were leading 20-19 in the first quarter and further their lead at the end of the first half with a 38-32.

Then from there, the Kings played their game as they went on to take the win with Vitores Fernando leading the way with 17 as teammates Armando Canseco and Masao Umedip identically finished the game with 12 markers as Adam McQuistan tallied 10.

Abel Kuterbis, on the other hand, topscored for Matakui with 16 as Castro Stanley chipped in 14 on the losing end.

In other games, Ngerchemai Ranchers won over WCC Hammers, 90-69; and Breakers defeated Medalaii Meda Boyz, 87-80.

Games will resume tonight with Ngaraard Red Torch versus Ngerchemai Ranchers at 7 p.m. while Matakui will face Peched Raw in the main game at 8:30 p.m.

Monday night games will have Peched Raw against Ngerchemai Ranchers at 7 p.m.

Also officials have announced the sponsors of the participating squads. For Surangel Kings and Peched Raw (sponsor is Surangel and Sons Company); WCC Hammers (sponsor is WCC Construction Company and Billy Takamine); Ngaraard Red Torch (sponsor is Del. Gibson Kanai); Medalaii Meda Boyz, Ngerchemai Ranchers and Ngermid Rivals (sponsor is Koror State Government c/o Koror State Youth Council).
