NBL Final Four tips off

A spot in the championship will be at stake as four teams battle it out as the Final Four of the 2013 season of the IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) kicks off at the Palau National gym.

As of this writing Game One of the semis is still playing. Island Times was informed that Game Two of the best of three semifinal series will be on July 31 with FR Spoilers taking on WCC Hammers in the first game at 6 p.m. while Peched Raw will meet the Nationals in the main game at 7:30 p.m.

The Spoilers barged into the semis with their 105-70 victory over Neco Marine Stingers while WCC Hammers earned a spot in the semis with their 107-78 beating of Ksau Imaging Solutions.

Peched Raw, on the other hand, sailed to the semis after besting PCC Mesekiu, 88-71 while the Nationals went on to beat team Breakers, 87-81 to claim a semis run.

Winners of the semifinals will move on to the championship round while the losers will battle it out for the consolation game.

The tournament, which is supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF), is a tobacco, alcohol and drug free program. Any violators will be banned from participating. For more information call Topps at 488-4491.   By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
