Ilocandia Bulls beat Rangers to take lead in FBL

Contender Ilocandia Bulls scored their second win at the expense of RP Rangers, 78-75 Sunday in the 2013 season of the Filipino Basketball League at the Palau National gym.

Down 73-79 going into the final quarter, the Bulls made their last stand as they spurted a 22-19 run to take down the Rangers. With their backs against the wall, the Bulls surprised the Rangers with their final assault that earned them their second win to tie with Surangel Stars with identical 2-0 win-loss record.

Joeger Supnet led the Bulls with 25 points as Ryan Cacho added 11 while Emerson Patenia paced the Rangers with 20 as they now sport a 1-1 tally in the team standings.

In other games, Surangel Stars dumped PNQ Rams, 107-78; Jr. Nationals won over Hanpa Cardinals, 73-63; and Western Union drubbed PRA Choppers, 101-60.

There will be no games on March 31 in celebration of Easter Sunday. Games will resume on April 7 at the same venue.

Games are supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF). This year’s FBL League is supported by ATT Bar and Restaurant, HE Automotive, Palasia Hotel, Palau Royal Resort, FR Construction, Engrs.
