MOF Omsangel, Mason’s Hardware advance to GBL season finals

Team Ministry of Finance (MOF) Omsangel and Mason’s Hardware booked themselves a spot in the championship after besting separate rivals, Wednesday night in the semifinal round of the Season Finals of the 2012 season of the Rudimch Enterprise Government/Business League played at the Palau National gym.

Starting low after trailing 16-19 in the opening quarter, MOF Omsangel found their shooting range as they went on to beat a tough Galaxy Builders, 95-64. MOF Omsangel waxed hot in the third as they outscored Galaxy Builders with a 32-11 output coming off from Sunshine Soalablai and Tutii Benjamin.

MOF Omsangel received little resistance as they went all the way to score the win and booked a seat in the championship round. Benjamin finished the game with 23 points while Soalablai added 21. Galaxy Builders’ Emerson Patenia carried the scoring load as he tallied 21 on the losing end.

On the other hand, Mason’s Hardware rallied in the final quarter as they managed to beat team ABC, 81-74 to also advance into the championship. Reid Una Rikrik paced Mason’s Hardware with 21 while Traxx Mark topscored for team ABC with 29.

With the win, MOF Omsangel and Mason’s Hardware are set for a collision course as they will battle it out in the best of three championship series with Game One set tonight at 7:30 p.m. as Game Two will be played on October 22 at 7 p.m. while Game Three (if necessary) will be on October 23 also at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, Galaxy Builders will face team ABC for the consolation game tonight at 6 p.m.
