Peched Reds take down Belias in WNBL

Tournament darkhorse Peched Reds nailed its fifth straight victory after beating Belias Underdawgs, 62-48 in the ongoing 2012 IP&E Women’s National Basketball League played at the Palau National gym.

Leading 15-11 after the first quarter, Peched Reds then displayed their stinging defense as they outscored Belias Underdawgs in the second with a 13-9 run to close the first half with 28-20 lead.

From there, Peched Reds never looked back as they went on to score the win and improved their standing with a 5-3 win-loss card behind Sanya’s 19 point performance. Ona, on the other hand, also finished with 19 markers for Belias Underdawgs but was not enough to fuel a comeback as they suffered their sixth loss for a 2-6 tally.

Games will resume tonight with Kyrptonite versus Money at 7:30 p.m. while Peched Reds will meet Smooth Riders tomorrow night at 6 p.m. as Belias Underdawgs will face the Islanders on June 7 at 7:30 p.m.
