Peched Raw closes 1st round with a clean slate

Defending champion Peched Raw closed its first round campaign in style as they went on to beat 4x4 Wheelers, 94-92 Thursday night in the ongoing 2012 season of the IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) at the Palau National gym.

After taking a 25-23 lead in the opening quarter, Peched Raw went all the way to dominate the game and nail their 10th victory to remain on top of the team standings with a clean slate of 10-0 win-loss record. Douglas Schmidt led Peched Raw with 25 points while Sunshine Soalablai topscored for 4x4 Wheelers with 30 as they closed their first round with a 7-3 tally.

Games for the second round will resume tonight with Islanders versus Peched Raw at 6 p.m. as Meda will meet Mercury Optimax at 9 p.m. Wednesday night games will have Nationals 17 and Under against 4x4 Wheelers at 7:30 p.m. as Islanders will be pitted against Melengoes at 9 p.m.

Thursday night matches will have Peched Raw taking on Aqua Smooth at 6 p.m. while Meda will face Surangel Kings at 9 p.m.
