In addition to written comments collected from coaches, many people, including spectators voiced their opinion on the standard and conduct of the tournament.
Most people thought that the standard was higher than they expected and the conduct seemed to be spot on.
Many commented on the standard of the Guam teams and their style of play being very aggressive and of high intensity, both in offence and defence. Palauans agreed that playing against the Guam teams can only benefit the young basketball players in Palau and help them to learn how to play in a similar style.
While some Palau parents commented that the up tempo style of play forced their children to be more aggressive than they liked, Palau coaches agreed that this was a necessity if Palau is to be competitive with Guam in the future.
The following comments on the standard and benefits of this tournament ton the future development of basketball within Micronesia were collected from coaches at the tournament:
CNMI - Having the MBT for the different age groups will definetly raise the standard of basketball in Micronesia. The Western Division should continue to promote this tournament for the growth and development of the sport.
CNMI - The standard of this tournament was what was expected from this young age group. The tournament has done its job of providing experience to the next generation of ball players. It has encouraged competitiveness as well as comraderie which both play a huge role in the development of basketball.
CNMI - Great exposure for developmental teams.
CNMI - The standards and level of play encouraged by this tournament was perfect. On a developmental level I believe it has truly shown our players what it will be like to compete at higher levels.
Guahan - MBT was well put together
Guam - Great tournament, perfect stepping stone for under 19. Kids will all grow together.
Palau - The standard of the tournament was really good. It was a high level tournament for a starter. We will benefit from the experience and high level of performance from this tournament
