The gold medal championship to determine the best volleyball team in the 8th Micronesian games and it was the unstoppable Guam facing off against Pohnpei (*The Island on a sacred stone*). The sun is even excited for the match as it provided a hot weather for a hot game; road's blocked, all different race, and a wild crowd with a warm applaud welcome for both teams as they entered the battle ground.
A hard handed spike by GUM started off painted the scoreboard and the game began. PNI on the other hand could not resist scoring battled their way with another spectacular spike. Both teams are effeciently equiped defensively and offensively that made the tackle hard to break. The game went on and both teams gave out their best effort, but it was unfortunate for team PNI; GUM won with 25-21; 1st set.
It didn't stop the GUM from gunning down every hit on opened blocks began the second set. Their collision was intense and GU created a wall defense that led PNI went under extreme stress. Again the game ended with 25-17 in favor of GUM.
The ball couldn't stop penetrating through both blocks on both teams and it was extoardinary shielded and counter attacked started off the third set. PNI team came out rough on spikes, protection, plus offense; and it was epic. They were brutaly attacking the GUM team with all their might striked came out a 25-18 win by PNI team.
Fourth set came and it was very challenging for both teams to decide for a last settlement whether to battle again for PNI or GUM to walk away with the gold medal as champions. GUM hustled a marvelous teamwork and tremendous gameplays ended the combat winning the Gold medal and champions for the volleyball tournament of the 8th Micronesian games on July 28th, 2014; Final score 25-15.
