Elimination Final v Vermont
As a coach, it’s important to provide a learning environment for our boys. I've also learnt a thing or two. These U12 boys will never drop their head. Our last quarters this season, staring down a loss, we've won by outscoring or stemming the flow. Yesterday was the same. Losing Charlie Webb and Sam Atherton with ankles leaving us with 17 for the last half hurt. But the ball was in our forward 50 for most of the last quarter and it was pure fight and never say die spirit. We're out of the finals but we left it all out there. Great Culture! Great Parents,! Great Kids!

Under 12 Girls by Ruby Schneider (Coach)
Today the girls played Donvale in our last game for the season and also an opportunity to make finals. I t was a big lead up to the game and all the girls were really excited but also sad as it could be the last game for the season. Unfortunately the game didn't start as we would of hoped with Donvale kicking three straight to zero in the first quarter. Matilda Anderson played magnificently in that very tough first quarter o football. In the first half our girls really struggled as Donvale moved the ball very well. Half time came around and the girls had lifted a little bit but not enough, we had a chat at halftime and told them to just go out and give it their all as it was their last half of footy for the year, and that's exactly what they did. Our little irks Jess, Taryn and Gemma got in there and won the footy many times and with fantastic tackling by Meg, Hannah and Charlotte who were also awarded free kicks for their efforts. Taya won almost every hit out for the day so well done! Lucy O played a ripper second half and stopped a number of goals, saving us on the score board. The efforts of Phoebe and Amber in the backline were also great. Every single one of the girls really fought hard in the second half and congratulations go to Sienna who played a great fourth quarter and for kicking our only goal for the game. As sad as it is to say, our season is over for the year but I have enjoyed it so much and am so proud of how far my girls have come throughout the year and I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did! Thanks to all the parents who helped out, it couldn't of happened without you guys! Thanks for an awesome year full of fun, laughter and competitiveness. Great season girls, see you all at presentation night !!

Elimination Final v Donvale
Congratulations boys. You should all be very proud of your efforts. What a difference it makes when everyone contributes. Today I thought the backline was exceptional. While you need to kick more goals than the opposition to win a game of footy, you also need to stop the opposition forwards from kicking goals. I am really happy with every single person who played through the backline today. They should all be happy with their game. I thought Nathan and Conner were dominant in their position. They were playing on a very good player, however they both won their positions all day. The forwards were also really good and took their opportunity to score when their chance came. My favorite piece of play today was Dan T kicking a goal and watching him celebrate with a somersault. That’s what football is all about. Having fun and expressing yourself on the football field. It was truly a team effort today. It was great to see Jasper and Denzell step up on the big stage. It’s no surprise that both of these boys are training well and it’s transferring into their games. Finals games always need players to step up and I thought today everyone did. A great example of how everyone contributed was when both Liam and Julien got in there, got the ball, and played their part in contributing to the win. I am so proud of the boys. We have a big game next week against Rowville. Like last week I need all the boys at training. It makes a huge difference in developing our game plan. Enjoy the win. Lets do it again next week.
Best Players: The whole team.
Goal kickers: JP 2, Dan T 2, Nathan 2, Jack
Final Score: Mitcham 7.9.51 d Donvale 4.5.29

The under 14 girls took on The Basin for their final game of the year. Not being able to make finals didn’t stop the girls from putting in a fantastic performance against the Basin who had the opportunity to play finals on their mind. With The Basin flooding our forward line in the latter half of the second quarter the girls in defence played a great last two quarters by sticking to the structures that were put in place at half time. The girls ran out with a victory that they had thoroughly deserved. After the re-grading took place after round 4 the girls have only suffered one significant defeat and been in winning positions in all the other games. Their development and desire to continue to improve has been a pleasure to witness. The other pleasing factor is the way that they have bonded and formed friendships within the team that will continue in the years to come. A thanks to Yvette(team manager), Peter(assistant coach), Matt(runner), Stacie(trainer), Kaye(time keeper), Sharon and Darren(umpires escort) and Glen for your help throughout the year. Thanks also to the other parents that carried out the other roles as required.
Final Score: Mitcham 1.5.11 d The Basin 0.3.3
