Under 12 Girls (Coach: Ruby Schneider)

Last game of the season saw us take on Healesville at Montrose and a win would give us a chance of playing finals.  We started well and our pressure and tackling was very good.  Meg and Chloe battled well down back, but Healsville were able to get a couple of goals head start on us.  In the second quarter we let them get an easy goal and our finals chances were slipping away.  The bigger Healesville team were proving a hand full and whilst we played a great 3rd qtr they got a lucky goal and managed to be 4 goals up at the last change.  The message to the girls at 3/4 times was to have fun and put everything into the final qtr.  Well the the girls rallied and we outplayed the opposition and scored a couple great goals from Riley and Sabrina.  Awesome to see Maykala and Milly have a run in the middle and get their hands on the footy!  Phoebe's courage was again on display and Lucy O, Bianca and Steph all played well again.  Meg and Riley led by example all day.  A great fun season was had and special thanks go to Leigh and Simon for the great support they have given Dad and I.  To all the girls -  thanks for your enthusiasm and willingness to learn and improve each week.  Well done girls - bring on 2017!!!

Final score: Healesville 5.4.34 d Mitcham 2.0.12

Under 15 Girls (Coach: Luke Smith)

The Under 15 Girls travelled down the Burwood Highway to take on the undefeated Ferntree Gully.  Wasn't a great day for us and we were outplayed by a much bigger and stronger team on the day.  The great thing is that we have had a tremendous year in what is the first season of competitive football for most of our team.  We have finished the home and away season second on the ladder and will this weekend play in a Qualifying Final at Batterham Reserve, Miller Rd, The Basin (Mel 65 D7).  Our game kicks off at 3pm and your support would be greatly appreciated.  Well done on a great season girls - We still have plenty more football to play in 2016!

Final Score:  Ferntree Gully 9.8.62 d Mitcham 0.2.2

Our Under 11's and Under 17's have both had the weekends rest after finishing on top of their resepective ladders.  This Sunday, why not head out to Knox Gardens Reserve, Argyle Way, Wantirna South (Mel 72 G2) and catch the Under 11's taking on North Ringwood in their 2nd Semi Final which kicks off at 10.55am.  Sandy and his team have had a teriffic season and it would be great to get as many supporters along to cheer his boys on.  Then you can either head across to The Basin to see the Under 15 Girls play their Qualifying Final against Bayswater (kicking off at 3pm) or head across to Ferntree Gully Reserve, Glenfern Road, Ferntree Gully (Mel 74 B5) to watch our Under 17's take on Lilydale in the 2nd Semi Final (2.30pm start).  Cam Horsey's boys finished 4 games clear on top of the ladder but know that they need to bring their best in finals football.  It's Tiger Time everyone!  Lets all get out there and support our teams as they do our club proud!
