It was a huge night for the Mitcham Junior Football Club on Friday, September 4 at the EFL Junior Presentation Night.  Not only were our Under 12’s presented with their Premiership Flag for Season 2015, but Jamie Ross and Joel Michaelson took out the league Best and Fairest and Runner Up Best and Fairest awards respectively for their age group.

What a great year it has been for Mark Ross’s Under 12 team.  To win the Premiership and to have the Best and Fairest and Runner Up Best and Fairest for the season is a magnificent effort.  President Craig Giles accepted the Premiership flag on behalf of the club and spoke with pride about our club and the efforts of this particular group during 2015.  Jamie was Best and Fairest on 25 votes and Joel was Runner Up on 22 Votes.  Great effort by these boys!

Jamie and Joel were both on stage to accept their awards and the club congratulates them both on outstanding seasons.  Jamie won the league Best and Fairest last season in Under 11’s and continued on the great work this year.  Joel was a dominant ruckman for his team and anyone who watched his performance in the Grand Final will attest to that.  Well done boys and well done to the entire Under 12 team for 2015.  Can’t wait for the Premiership Flag unfurling before your first home game at Walker Park in 2016.

Nathan Philactides from our Under 11's and Jarrod Powson from our Under 15's both came 5th in their respective age groups.  JP had a great season in the 15's but the effort of Nathan to poll so well in a team that did not win a game was a fantastic effort!  Well done boys!

Please keep your eyes posted to this site next week for exciting news regarding our Senior and Reserves teams playing off in the Division 3 Grand Final next Sunday, September 13 at East Burwood Reserve.  LETS BUILD THE BIGGEST TIGER ARMY AND GET OUT THERE AND SUPPORT THE CLUB AS IT ENTERS ITS FIRST SENIOR GRAND FINAL SINCE 1992!
