NEWS: Elite TIDC program kicks off with Trials on Monday night

THE TALENT Identification Development Centre (TIDC) kicked off with trials on Monday night in wet and wintry conditions at Hume Reserve, but it didn’t deter close to 120 junior boys and girls from trialling for the elite academy style program run by Football Federation Victoria.

The FFV’s Technical Department, conducted the trials with Technical Director Dave Smith, Head Coach of the FFV TIDC program Boris Seroshtan and Head Coach of the Geelong program Craig Moore all in attendance. They had a big job of managing more than 120 of the brightest young footballing juniors from right around the region.

Following the first night of trials, the FFV Technical Department is considering expanding the Game Training program to two groups  one group would be for those born in 2002 and 2003, while the second group would be for those born in 2004 plus 2003

But with the amazing response from local players on Monday, coupled with the fact that at least another 50 junior girls and boys weren’t able to attend for whatever reason while a further 20 who either made last year’s state teams or were in the final stage of selection - thus weren’t required to enter the Trial phase until the second trial - the FFV Technical Department has announced an extra (second) trial date.

The extra Trial will be held on Friday 21st of April at Howard Glover Reserve from 5:00-7:30pm.

This will in turn provide manageable numbers for the second Game Training Trial for the 13-15 year olds, as well as the SAP program for the 11-12 year olds, which will be held on Monday 24th April at Hume Reserve.
