AFL Gippsland Statement

AFL Gippsland is currently working with the Community Club Sustainability Committee ("CCSP Committee) in finalising its points allocations and salary cap for Community Clubs for 2021.

AFL Gippsland remains cognisant of the challenges its leagues and clubs will likely face in 2021, after a year so heavily affected by the COVID19 pandemic.

It is recognised that community sport remains prohibited for the immediate future, local businesses have been closed or compromised for substantial portions of the year and considerable financial hardship may be felt by local players and families that will ultimately affect the greater football economy.

AFL Gippsland is currently undertaking an internal review of the caps, the points allocations and the process for better regulation of the CCSP Policies and is well placed to make an announcement on the outcome of this process well ahead of the CCSP deadline of 31 August 2020.

The annoucement will allow clubs the ability to commence preparations for the season 2021 under a system that will be clear and transparent, and will incentivse the retention of local junior players.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
