Parkes & District Amateur Soccer Association Inc. concluded a most unusual season with its Annual General Meeting at the Parkes Bowling and Sports Club on Monday, November 2.
After a lengthy and interrupted season, due to the global pandemic, saw a shorter season for both ladies and juniors kick off on Saturday, July 4. However, once the season was able to get underway, it was one full of sportsmanship and friendly competition.
As Parkes & District Amateur Soccer Association President, Wayne Osborne, reflected on the season the most exciting aspect was the addition of the Parkes Cobras to the Western Premier League. Looking ahead, the Cobras are aiming to strengthen their relationship with the community, especially within junior soccer players.
With the addition of new referees, plus the great work by Junior Vice President, Steward Lamond, in securing sponsorship for 2020/2021 the future is looking bring for Parkes Soccer.
President Osborne wanted to thank all involved for their cooperation, patience and enthusiasm that was displayed throughout the pandemic soccer season.
