KDBA Community News - February

KDBA have been working very hard over the past few months, getting out and about within our community to spread the message and family values within our association, and of course promoting basketball.

On January 15 we held our second Hawaiian’s Forrestfield 3 x 3 Tournament in conjunction with the Perth Wildcats Fan day. This was an amazing event where our junior competitors got to showcase their skills in front of the likes of Perth Wildcats Bryce Cotton & Terrico White to name a few. It was a great community-based event and something we look forward to doing more of in the future.

We took part in the first Kalamunda Night Market of the year on the Friday evening of January 17, where Haynes Street was closed off for fun and food. This event gave us the opportunity to get out to the public and promote our local basketball competitions and upcoming SBL season.

On January 20-24 we held our annual Summer Holiday Camp from which was a fun holiday activity for the kids, giving them the opportunity to play basketball and other fun games in a safe and fun environment. We will be hosting more camps each school term holidays and hope to see you there!

Early in February we also held our Junior Registration day and Referee Open night. These two events were open to anyone who was looking to join our local competition or nominate to learn to become a referee for KDBA. Both events were a great success with large turnout from the public.

On top of this we participated in our second Kalamunda Night Market later in February. We also started our school visits and coaching clinics; something we will continue to do and grow on in 2020.

Keep your eyes peeled for big moves this year!
