Caloundra Basketball Academy

 The first inaugural Caloundra Basketball Academy was established and planned by Caloundra Basketball’s Coaching Director Lee Miles. The aim was to offer a pathway for Caloundra juniors who were already playing representative basketball or Interclub and to challenge these players in a professional environment with likeminded individuals to reach their full potential.

 The athletes focused on basketball specific strength and conditioning exercises and worked hard on individual skills and drills. Each week the focus was on a different area of the game for example: decision making and how best to make decisions in a highly competitive environment.

The experience will hopefully leave each player with an understanding of how hard work, commitment, understanding the correct technique, repetition, and injury prevention through strength and conditioning in my opinion are the keys in reaching the next level.

During the 2018 Season of the Caloundra Basketball academy we had guest appearances by Roy Booker, Natalie Hurst and Dr Adam Gorman which was an invaluable experience to our young ambitious juniors.

Well done to the juniors of Caloundra Basketball Academy on your dedication and commitment in showing up and training at the next level on those cold early morning sessions.
