MUSTANGS IN SCHOOLS Heads to Greta Public School

Heads to Greta Public School

On Friday, February 18, I attended Greta Public to run some basketball clinics for the whole school from K to 6. Firstly it started off with 2 classes in each group, beginning with Kindergarten and K1. This saw an intense game of ‘fishes in the net’ followed by some favourite ball games, ‘tunnel ball’ and also ‘over and under’. Next up was year 1 and 2 in a combined group skills session.

It involved some dribbling and passing games. Year 6 was most impressive getting through a competitive game of ‘golden child’ as well as completing other skills and drills. After recess came year 5 and they showed great ability to control the basketball and some shooting skill in the shooting games.

Two year 3/4 groups came out after and battled the heat and some droplets of rain to complete some dribbling and shooting drills and games. The day was fun filled and action packed. Hope to see the kids staying active, and hopefully continuing on their basketball talents.

Thanks to Donaldson Coal for their support in the “Mustangs in Schools” program.
