Junior Coaching Director

Central Districts Basketball Club would like to announce that the position of Junior Coaching Director has been made open to applicants to apply for the role for the upcoming summer season.

In the meantime we are lucky enough to have Joseph Campbell step into the role as the Interim Coaching Director whilst the selection process is underway. Not only will we get the opportunity to utilise Josephs knowledge and skills during this period, it will also give us time to select the right candidate to lead our coaching group.

The role of Coaching Director is a pivotal role in the future of our club, and the successful applicant will be a key driver in any success the club will have in the future.

We as a club are reliant on volunteers to coach our junior players. The goal of the Coaching Director is to provide our coaches, and potential coaches with an opportunity to participate in developmental activities to increase their skills and confidence in assuming and/or maintaining the role of coach.

The Junior Coaching Director is responsible to the Committee for the development and management of a program to raise the level of coaching across the club and ensure that each volunteer coach is working together in a cohesive manner to achieve a club focused goal.

To support in this endeavor, a coaching panel will be raised and administered by the Coaching Director with a committee member overseeing the panel.

This is not a Junior Development Officer Role “JDO” it is a coach development role.

We are looking for a skilled and passionate individual with excellent interpersonal skills and extensive basketball knowledge to take up the role. If you believe you have what it takes to lead the Coaching staff of Lions Basketball and help shape our future, please read the Position Description and submit an application for the position.

Once the Coaching Director is appointed, a request for coaching support staff to take part in the Coaching Panel will be circulated. For more details about these roles see page 3 in the Position description and the Coaching Panel Diagram attached.
